Moeaki!
Ooooh that's fun to say!
Former Iowa Hawkeye tight end and now current Kansas City Chief Tony Moeaki saw his first regular season action as a professional football player on Monday Night Football at the new Arrowhead Stadium in rain-soaked battle between the Chiefs and San Diego Chargers.
In a game where offense didn't come too easily for the Chiefs, Moeaki caught his first touch down on his first reception in his first game as a Chief, giving Kansas City the lead in the second quarter. He was also the the only Chief to move the chains on third down all night long, as the Chiefs went 1 for 11 on third down conversions for the game.
Moeaki had been pretty quiet all preseason, but made an instant impact in the passing game as well as the running game in the Chiefs 21-14 opening-night victory over the Chargers. The hard rain made it difficult for both quarterbacks and many passes were dropped by both teams, but Moeaki was perhaps the most consistant and reliable reciver on the field thoughout night. He finished the night with three catches for 21 yards and a touch down.
Moeaki joined the Chiefs as the second of two third-round selections (93rd overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft and signed a four-year contract earlier this summer.

Des Moines Blaze headed to World Bowl IV
In just their first year, Des Moines Blaze have been ripping the World Football League a new one all season long. They finished their regular season at 7-1 outscoring their opponents 300-60, and have burned their way through the playoffs, most recently burying the St. Louis Bulldogs with a decisive 50-21 victory in the semi-final round.
Their opponent in World Bowl IV is the Oklahoma Thunder, who have won the previous three World Bowls and finished this season 10-0, outscoring their victims 372-63. Yikes! It's a matchup of the school bully versus the new kid.
The Blaze will travel to Tulsa for World Bowl IV this Saturday, July 31, at 7 PM in what could be an epic display of offensive firepower. Follow Blaze Football.net for more info!
